NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF CIVIL ENGINEERING CHANGED NAME INTO HANOI UNIVERSITY OF CIVIL ENGINEERING

On August 13, 2021, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam signed the Decision on Renaming the National University of Civil Engineering to Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, with its main campus in Hanoi.

This Decision was made at the request of the Minister of Education and Training in Report No. 680/TTr-BGDDT dated July 27, 2021 on renaming the National University of Civil Engineering to Hanoi National University of Civil Engineering. This Decision takes effect from the date of signing.

The University of Civil Engineering was established under Decision No. 144/CP dated August 8, 1966 of the Government Council, formerly known as Faculty of Civil Engineering of Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

Established during wartime, the University had to leave Hanoi capital to evacuate in various places in Ha Bac and Vinh Phu provinces. At the end of 1983, the University moved back to Hanoi but still scattered in 4 areas: Co Nhue, Phuc Xa, Bach Khoa and Dong Tam. In 1991, the University concentrated in Dong Tam Ward, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi. In 2014, the University invested in building a second campus of experiment and training facilities in Ha Nam Province with an area of ​​over 24ha.

With over 50 years of establishment and development, and more than 60 years of training experience, Hanoi National University of Civil Engineering (HUCE) has become a leading center for training, scientific research, technology transfer, and supply high-quality human resources for the country in the field of construction.

With a team of highly qualified multidisciplinary lecturers and professionals, up to now, HUCE has provided the country with over 60,000 engineers and architects; over 4,500 masters, 170 doctorates in many different disciplines in the field of construction. Engineers and architects graduating from HUCE have been present in all parts of the country, from construction sites to factories, enterprises, and state management agencies from the central government to the locality, contributing to the cause of national construction and defense. In addition to the field of training, HUCE is also a center for research and transfer of science and technology, making important contributions to the industry.
